EAMCET 2009 Counseling Procedure : A Sneak Preview
EAMCET counselling is about to start, while the exact date is not known yet, July 15th to 30th seem to be the most likely period for counselling. We wanted to share some of the insight we have gained so far about the overall EAMCET counselling process with our readers. Some of the process described below might change, but the overall steps and the expectations from candidates will remain the same.
EAMCET 2009 Counseling will have 8 distinct phases. Our editors feel that the manual process was much more help ful as the candidate could make decisions in real time instea of relying on technology complications that many of us are not used to. While the EAMCET counselling board claims that the process is all web based, we feel that less than 30% is really web based and the rest is manual work with candidates visiting the helpline centers, banks etc.
Step 1 -> EAMCET 2009 Counselling Registration
Candidates will register their presence at the help line center and receive a registration verification form in this process. Candidates should approach the help line center and wait for an announcement. Post the announcement, candidates should submit their EAMCET rank card and pay the EAMCET registration counselling fee. Once the fee is paid, the candidate will receive a computer generated registration verification form and sign in the register confirming the receipt of the same. If you find any details missing or erroneous, you can fix them in the next step
Note : Have a Pen, Validate the information entered on your registration form
Step 2 -> EAMCET 2009 Counselling Certificate Verification
Candidates can bring up any issues or errors in the EAMCET 2009 counselling registration form at this stage. SC, ST, BC candidates should provide the proof of their status as well as their Rank Card, Hall Ticket, Marks Memo, Study Certificate and Income Certificates for verification. OC candidates can directly go to the certification officer and present their original ceritificates including EAMCET rank card and hall ticket. The certification officer will provide you a receipt for the documents and you will be asked to enter a hall where you will be briefed on how to pick the options.
Note : Get a receipt and validate that all documents are marked as verified or received.
Step 3 -> EAMCET Options / Coaching Session
Candidates should setup their college and course options in order of their preference. Candidates will now get access to a list of codes representing colleges and courses and manual option forms along with specimen options form that can be used for practing or understanding the options process
Note : If you have questions on how to fill this form, dont shy away. Ask as many questions as you would have.
Step 4 -> EAMCET Options / Time to think
Candidates can now consult their friends and family to decide on courses and colleges that they want to apply for and mark the form appropriately.
Step 5 -> Enter college choices in Web Application
Candidates will now get a chance to enter their choices in the internet with the help of the manual form they have gained access to in step 4. This process is very confusing and tedious, so be patient and save in every step of the way. You will be required to create a password of 6 letters including 1 number, so be ready to create a password without having to spend too much time on the same. After the password is created, you will login to the site to submit your options through the web application.
This can be done from Home, Internet Cafe or can be done within the helpline center. If you are using the helpline operator, be sure to ask the operator to save your options at regular intervals
Note : This is a slightly complex process, so be sure of the options picked and submitted at the end. Dont forget to save regularly.
Step 6 -> EAMCET 2009 Seat Allotment
A notification of seat allocation will be released once the seats are allocated per Merit, Category and Seats available in each of the colleges. Allotment of seats is final and no changes can be made at this stage.
Step 7 -> Pay Fees
A challan can be downloaded for fee payment from the website and it can be paid at any Andhra Bank or Indian Bank counters along with allottment order.
Step 8 -> Join Allotted College
Per the details announced in the notification, candidates should now report to the allotted college with their allottment order and fee receipt. Candidates not reporting into the colleges before the deadline announced in the notification will forfeit their seat allocation.
