University of Arkansas-Fort Smith

When I became chancellor of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith on July 1, 2006, I did so with a great deal of pride because this community understands the importance of higher education. We at UA Fort Smith want you — whether you are considering coming to UA Fort Smith or whether you've already made that decision — to know that we stand with you as you move forward in this step of your lifelong learning.

UA Fort Smith has a rich history that began in 1928, a history that encompasses a deep responsiveness to the citizens of this region and their educational needs. We have a commitment to see that continue, with you and others like you, as you enter this campus and become a part of the UA Fort Smith family.

We choose to remember and build on UA Fort Smith's origins, but we want to balance that with our commitment to the community to continue to grow and change as needs arise. We also have a new and renewed commitment to economic development for this region, partnering with the City of Fort Smith, the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, and local business and industry.
